AssetWise Implementation Guide

Managing ProjectWise Content in AssetWise Director

Note: This section assumes that you have already configured which ProjectWise projects and folders you want to monitor from within this community. This is done in AssetWise System Management Console. See To Add the ProjectWise Projects and Folders You Want to Monitor .

In AssetWise Director you can synchronize the ProjectWise projects and folders that are currently being monitored in your community, for the purpose of keeping up-to-date copies of documents that exist in ProjectWise. Synchronization informs the community about what documents exist in the monitored project or folder, and keeps track of any changes that have occurred in the project or folder, such as documents that have been added or deleted, or documents whose attributes have changed.

Note: Projects and folders are similar objects in ProjectWise. In fact, a ProjectWise project is just a special type of folder (they can both contain projects, folders, and documents). For the purpose of synchronization there is no notable difference between the two, except for the icon that is used to differentiate a project from a regular folder. For the rest of this section, wherever the term folder is used, it implies project or folder.
